5 Ways to Make the Most of Your Orlando Vacation

Orlando, Florida is one of the tourist capitals of the United States; at least that’s the case if you ask any Floridian. There is so much to do and see when vacationing in Orlando. It can become overwhelming when trying to plan the perfect trip. Lucky for you, we have five ways to make the most of your Orlando vacation.

1. Narrow Down What You Want to Do in Orlando

Orlando has more than 100 stand-alone attractions, not including the famous theme parks. It can be extremely overwhelming to try and figure out which attractions to visit. So many people make the mistake of not narrowing down which attractions are most important to them and end up not getting to see or do the things that would interest them most. Start by making a list of everything that catches your interest. Then, highlight the 4 or 5 attractions that are “must-sees” for you and your traveling companions. This way, you have a clear idea of what you’re going to do before arriving. Now, you’ll be able to spend your vacation seeing and doing what you want versus wasting your precious time trying to figure it out. Orlando can be overwhelming but, not if you plan ahead!

2. Make Reservations for Meals

Everyone loves to eat out on vacation, and Orlando has a variety of places to choose from. With that said, every season is a busy season in Orlando. That means that waiting for a table at restaurants is more probable than not. The best way to avoid waiting an hour or more for a meal? Make reservations ahead of time! If you pre-plan where you’re going to eat, you can reserve tables and save yourself the agony of having to wait. This tip is going to buy back so much of your vacation time. You’ll thank us when your kids don’t have to wait an hour with rumbling tummies. We know how difficult a “hangry” child can be!

3. Prepare for Sunshine, Rain, and Everything in Between

Florida is that state where it can be raining in one place, and two miles up the road, it’s sunny. Then, at any given moment, it can be 60 degrees, and you need a sweater. We’re not saying to pack your winter parka, but we are saying that you need to be prepared for several different types of weather. The necessities? Sunscreen, bathing suit, rain jacket, and a light sweater. If you remember these four staples, you can build your packing list around them. Most of the time, heat and rain are guaranteed. Remember, this is Florida we’re talking about. The worst thing is taking a vacation and it being ruined because you weren’t prepared for the weather. Take our advice, pack the staples, and thank us later!

4. Have Some “Down Time”

The hustle of an Orlando vacation can be exhausting. This is why we recommend planning some downtime for your trip. Give yourself a pool day or two and take the time to relax. There’s nothing wrong with enjoying the amenities of wherever you’re staying! If your time in Orlando is limited, try creating space within your busy days for relaxation. A trip to the pool in the morning or a pre-dinner nap are great options! This way, you get a good balance of experiencing all Orlando offers while also squeezing in some rest on your vacation.

5. Pick the Perfect Place to Stay in Orlando

Where you stay in Orlando is very important. A place that will make you and your traveling companions feel right at home is key. Somewhere that’s clean, in a great location, and priced well. While Orlando offers tons of great resorts and hotels, they can be slightly on the pricey side. Also, they’re not always the best option for large groups or families. So, if not hotels or resorts, then what? We say vacation rentals are the way to go! Cozy, clean, accommodating, and one of the best bangs for your buck. There are tons of vacation rental options in Orlando but, M&L Vacation Rentals is here to help you narrow it down. We have several options in great locations.
